Maybe timing is everything. While the frame described here, and shown in the link pix, looks nothing like the frame Mark Bobb is questioning, I'm pretty sure it was built in the Bernard Carre shop.

For sale - Jacques Anquetil frame, purportedly built in the Bernard Carre shop in Paris. 56 x 56 cm (c-c). This is a very interesting frame currently owned by Mel Pinto. He has set the price at $350 or best offer. This is a hard frame to put a realistic price on, at least for me. There are a number of small dents in the frame, and a larger scrape and dent on the top tube. The frame is certainly still rideable, but would be worth considerably more if it weren't for the dents. The fork is also missing, but two Gitane forks, one painted in a close to matching purple are included. Also included are French threaded BB cups and a lock ring.

There are lots of pictures here:

Any additional information about this frame is welcomed. Other than what I've described here and in the Wool Jersey album, I have little other information.
