From the Maruishi page (plus more text) "In 1884 Maruishi imported bicycles for the first time into Japan and became the pioneer of bicycles. MARUISHI developed the original complete line of bicycles."

(perhaps the symantics are akin to who discovered the Internet !)

Any thoughts on my question ??
