The best way is to remove the fork and look inside the head tube. With the bulge-formed head tubes, you can see directly into the top and down tubes; theres no head tube material inside the tube sockets. Both the bulge formed head tubes and investment cast head tubes were only used on the mid to lower range models. The high end models used 3 piece head tube assemblies (top and bottom head lugs and a separate head tube).

Let's hope so. Maybe someday your Trek 510 will be as collectible in Japan as an Alex Singer is now... :-)
