I want to replace a Campy NR double with a triple; do I need more than a longer spindle or do I need a complete bottom bracket? Are they available or does someone have one they want to sell?

Also I swapped 5 and 6 speed freewheels and need a longer axle for the hub that had the 5 and now has the 6."

Sig.Aronne,

1)Axel only.

2)You can re-space the 5 speed axel over a bit and have enough to be safe in the dropout ( like 3-4 threads). Always did it this way.

Rear spacing on a 5 speed is 120 mm. 6 is 123mm. You can yank the frame open a bit, realign, and make sure the faces of the dropouts are parallel w/ the Campy tools. OR.... get a Suntour winner "Ultra 6". She is the same width as a 5 speed with out all the other work. Use w/ a SedisSport chain (now known as a PC48 iffin I remembers right. This is the way I went for years. No fuss, no muss.

Enjoy,

Johnny
