As a representative of the Hall of Fame, I must echo Dan's report on the 2008 USBHOF Induction event. It did "rock." I had the opportunity to speak with the all the inductees or their representatives and they were uniformly blown away and genuinely humbled by the recognition that they received but never expected. It was great to see Bob Freitas and Ted Ernst in attendance and Robers St. Cyr (all CR listers). I know their were a few others but names sometimes escape me. Honestly though I was hoping a few more of you locals could've attended. This was a tier one event that honored the history of our beloved sport. I know that in the past the Hall has met with some well deserved cynicism as to our future. That is OVER. I believe the Hall has arrived. We now have over 15 letters of interest from communities wanting to be the our future home. Davis is certainly a hot prospect not only after the show they spearheaded but after the presentations they made to attending Board members. I have rarely (maybe never) seen a town so enthralled with everything bicycle. On a personal note I would just like to say that I am well aware that this is a list devoted to the preservation and riding of vintage bikes. But it's not* just *about the bike. Its about the people who rode them and supported the sport over the years. I encourage you to get behind our efforts to preserve the history of this sport, in all its aspects. Thanks Dale in advance for not booting me for not only the ataboy but the plug. Edward Albert Chappaqua, New York, U.S.A.
