Perhaps someone can shed light on which Raleigh [drop bar] bikes had 26 tpi threads. I used to think that everything Supercourse and above was 24 tpi [Eng.] and everything below was 26tpi [Raleigh]. But a CRer has a Supercourse mixte w/ 26tpi bottom bracket threads and i've got an old, cottered crank era Grand Prix w/ Eng bb threads and 26tpi headset threads. What gives? Was it a question of Worksop vs. Nottingham? availability of shells? Year of manufacture? Can anyone clear this up? Hilary? Nick? I'd be very grateful. And personally i 've tapped out a couple of low end Raleighs to Italian threading, tho' i wouldn't do that on a concours bike. Billy Ketchum; Chicago, IL; USA.
