That does sound like a useful service, given all the horror stories we read here about commercial shipping. Such services exist for transporting antique and classic cars and they're not cheap. However you would need sufficient insurance to cover any loss or damage. I remember reading a story about a truck transporting some concept cars to the Detroit Auto Show getting wrecked. The loss must have been in the millions. Also, don't bank in the current drop in gas prices to be permanent. Even now it's exhorbitant compared to a couple of years ago.
