One seatstay rebraze by Rob Robertson, a drop dead georgeous paint job (and internal rust-preventive treatment) from Joe Bell, and rechromed dropouts all while still in California. Yes Joe Bell is every bit as wonderful as his repuation and such a nice guy.

At the very end, I had problems with the rt Campy SR brake lever. Never could tell for certain whether it was the lever or the holder (or both) but it would bind. Tried all the various possible permutations with like parts and still didn't come up with clearcut results. So I decided to substitute some gold Modolo Pro levers of the same early 80's period because they look nice and some said at least on par with the Campy SR of the same period. Either will stop on a dime and give you 7 cents change.

So now it is black with yellow cuttouts, yellow-wall tires, yellow bar tape. Geared with Sugino 50/34 in the front- a Suntour Winner up to 34 in the rear.

It is small, 54 C-T, but perfect for me.

Many thanks to Joe Bell, Rob Robertson, and Proteus Bicycles in College Park Maryland (where I can pick it up as soon as it stops raining)
