Of course this is just a guess on my part, but I would think that in order to make a "decent wage" you would need to charge many hundreds of dollars per delivery, and perhaps significantly more than that. The one great advantage of high volume is the ability to lower prices. Perhaps I'm way off, but I just don't see how you could keep the cost low enough to cover the time and expense of traveling.
