I have fitted a NOS 1976 B 17 narrow on my Raleigh Gran Sport (it came to me with a modern foam saddle) and I doubt this saddle will ever sag. It needs a lot of breaking in. Although this bike is ridden frequently, even in the rain without fenders, I do not feel it even has started to be broken in. I feel right on it nevertheless but I also have to say that i get along with most saddles. I suspect that these NOS saddles get even harder and more resistant when being stored for a long time due to lack of moisture. But on the other hand in this case it should have developped cracks in the leather which it did not. My other frequently ridden Professional is broken in and quite comfy now. Regards

I ride nothing, but Brooks B17 saddles in steel. I feel that the new ones are not as enduring as the ones from the 70s. One in particular which was one of the 1st speciels that Grant sells, looks like it's 10 yrs older then what it really is. They were really comfy from about 100 miles on, but, I doubt it will last like the old crooked rail ones that Raleigh used to put on bikes. But, they are very eyecatching with the big rivets. One man's opinion.
