Those oval CXs came out just about the end of the CR timeline. I remember selling 2 of them at our old location and we moved out of there about 1984...? What strikes me about this model is how much trouble/expense/thought went into them!? Colnago sprang for an entirely unique investment cast lug set.. The seat lug, seat tube and requisite seat post are strange. There is a smaller tube inside the aero section seat tube to hold the tiny seat post. Not sure what diameter it is but small (22 mm?)
These frames were not particularly light, but at that point in time, Aerodynamics (or the perception that it might be aero)? was the hot thing and counted above weight concerns...
