Subject: [CR]Positive eBay Experience

With all the rants that we see here on CR about unscrupulous eBay sellers, I had to write about a seller who went beyond the required to give truly great customer service.

Last week, I won a set of Campagnolo shift levers from jakes5 and when I opened the package, I noticed that 2 small washers were missing. No biggie to me; I figured that I could find some in a box of washers in the bike haus. I gave him positive feedback, but mentioned the missing washers. He immediately e-mailed to ask what was missing. I let him know and told him not to worry about it. He then e-mailed a jpeg of two different types of Campagnolo shifters so I could identify the missing pieces! Then, when I identified the washers, he immediately put them in the mail. All for a $25 sale.

Customer Service often seems a lost art these days, but my experience with this eBay seller has revived my faith. I would certainly do business with jakes5 again and encourage you to do the same.

Cheers,
