Howard,

I have some Nifty Swiftys on my Austro Daimler  Olympian 650b conversion.   I've only had these on a year, so I can't comment on dry rot specifical ly, but I've used their 700c counterpart on my 1978 Trek 710 for quite some time and they are holding up fine.  I have not encountered any premature degradation with any of their tires, really.

My AD is tricked out with wooden fenders, and I really like to take it out for Sunday cruising.  It was not meant to be a wet weather bike.  That said, one day this summer, I was crusing the rail trail along the Farmingto n River and got to an incomplete dirt section.  It had raining the day be fore, and the trail was quite muddy and had many pools of water.  I was i n a 'what the hay' frame of mind, so I plunged ahead.  I was quite impres sed with the tires performance.  I got through the muddy section in fine fashion and was able to ride the high edges around the pools.  They defin ately lived up to their name.
