I have sinned. I have married up an old-style 3-piece Campy track hub with a solid rear axle of unknown (French?) type, to get my '40s or '50s Andy Hamel on the road. It works, but in my heart I know it's not right. Doing this took wrenches beyond the usual for Campy hubs, and oversight by a shotgun with a white ribbon. :-)

The hub came to me from a listmember who deserves to remain anonymous, with a road axle and QR. I don't know why.

If you have a proper spare solid spindle with cones & lock nuts (and maybe the track nuts, too), help me regain my integrity! will pay fair sum. Or trade some of my lovely rejects from other folks' parts collections.

Key dimension: cone diameter can't be more than about 16.7 mm at the most. Original is 16.6.

Of course, the purists amongst us will note that the hubs should be FB, not Campy. Point conceded, and I have a proper pair of FB hubs with cones as late as "60," but the rear is a 120 instead of a 110. And, they are in use on another bike.
