Ciao Brian,

Speaking of Hellyer Park Velodrome loaners. I remember going to the Saturda y training rides at Hellyer and seeing a neat little yellow Cinelli Pista p robably from the 50s. Cottered crank, 1"pitch, steel bar/stem- too cool. Wh en I inquired about the possibility of purchasing the bike, I was given a v ery stern NO! Apparenty that the bike was donated to SJ Bicycle Club for track rider developement and was to stay there. That was back in the early 80s. Whatever happened to those bikes??

Has anyone seen this? I came across a picture of Peter Rich racing in S an Jose in 1963, riding his Masi Special Corsa track bike. I know Peter a nd gave him a call last week and discussed the bike with him to see if th ere was something "special" about it.

He said he purchased the bike fr om Masi early sixties,  maybe 61 or 62. He did not recall anything specia l about the bike or the graphics on the downtube. The bike was white wi th a light blue headtube and light blue panel on the seat tube. Peter went on to mention that the bike was repainted Velo Sport Orange in the 70's. T ragically the bike was stolen from our local track in San Jose, Peter had l et them use it as a house bike to be available to new track riders. 0ABe low is a link to the bike. You may note the graphics appear to be the stand ard Masi Special with "Corsa" added. Was this a transitional decal? Any t houghts??
