Subject: [CR]Guidonnet Brake Lever help needed

My wife likes to ride with her hands on the top of the bars. I thought about replacing her drop bars with either city bars or mountain bike bars, but am resisting the temptation until after trying some Guidonnet levers.

Can anyone tell me if Guidonnet levers have the same stopping power as standard drop bar levers?

I'd also like to know how many variations of Guidonnet levers there were, and what are the advantages of one over the other.

There are a few variations at http://homepage3.nifty.com/ClassicBicycles/brands/mafac.html but I'm sure there are more.
