My Legnano has been found. Though it is not yet here, I can again follow its progress to the delivery point.
UPS staff got confused by the shipment information and sent it to a dead storage site to await claim. With much persistence, a trip to the, luckily, nearby last known check-in point and some ownership of the problem by the customer reps we were able to ID the package and reactivate the shipment. The phone personnel were less than helpful. The on-line resources even less so. With a little more good luck the bike will arrive on Monday.
A few of you wrote to wish me good luck in the search. I few offered tips. All your kind words have been appreciated.
I've not been a very active member of the CR list but I follow the digest closely. I am really glad to be part of this wonderful community.
