Can anyone tell me the difference, if any, between a 1976 and 1977 Colnago Super? I recently bought one that was identified as a 1978 but since it doesn't have the recessed brake bolts, it must be earlier than 1978.
The only serial number on the bike is the number "2". The "2" appears on the right rear drop out and on the steering tube (a sideways letter "B" precedes the "2" on the dropout). Does that mean it was the 2nd frame built that year, that month, or was it simply the framebuilder's favorite number?....
Angel Garcia was already kind enough to forward a very helpful Colnago timeline to me (thanks Angel!). But I still need to narrow it down a little further so I can buy the right parts for this frameset.
