I meant to respond earlier, but seems like you found what you were looking for. Only thing I can add is that I believe that both the black and silver finish was available from the begining ('73 according to Shimano). The brake calipers also changed somewhere along the way, with the adjuster arm on the back caliper half (is that the way to describe it?) going to a split-arm design. Don't know when that happened, but I've seen both types. My 1st gen DA equipped (mostly) Martin can be seen here:
