Subject: [CR]Nervar Crank Questions

I have a few questions about Nervar Cranks, and Nervar in general. First set are practical, the second set are general about the company.

I always liked the look of the steel cotterless Nervar crank (Nervar Sport), as fitted on the Raleigh Super Course MKII's for example. I just got a set that I want to put on one of my bikes - for the fun of it. Does anyone know what BB length was right for those?

The Nervar 74 catalog on wool jersey has great diagrams, and shows the BB's dimensions for the alloy cranks. 115 for the 5 star one. 117 for the TA style crank. And 121 for all the tripples. Does anyone know which of these, if any would be right for the steel cotterless Nervar? I have a rather worn BB (BSC) of this length, but if someone had one that they wanted to part with, please let me know.

Also, we of course talk a lot about TA, and Stronglight, but much less about Nervar. Who were they? Were they lower level than Stronglight? Were they a newer company? Is it by chance that the name is similar to Nervex, To Var tools?

Thanks in advance, Dan Kasha Seattle, Wa
