This collection has a focus vastly different from that of CR and, I suspect, from many of the CR members' collections. The focus of the Embacher collection is on innovation, use of alternative materials, form and function across a wide spectrum of bicycles, not simply on steel lightweights. And, although many of these bikes seem, and are unsuccesful in their aims, others do hit the mark and influenced the evolution of bike manufacture. But it is well known that many a frog has to be kissed before a prince is found. It's fun to see the frogs and the princes, too.
