Subject: [CR]tip for band clamps

After many frustrating attempts at removing and re-installing band on clamps, like the top tube cable housing clamps, down tube derailleur and shifter clamps, etc, I have a suggestion for y'all.

I wrapped a .030" thick piece of teflon around the tube, spread the clamp just enough to start it around the tube, and then either pull it to remove, or push it to install, slide into position, tighten, and voila. The teflon allows the clamp to slide off or on easily so the paint won't get marred and the chrome won't wrinkle or get damaged.

No doubt someone else has come up with a similar solution to this dilemma, but I was so impressed with how clever I was that I thought I would share my tip.
