I have recently acquired a De Rosa bike from Italy which was claimed to be from the 1960s. Having now taken a close look at it I am of the opinion that it is probably from the 1967-69 period. I have taken apart as the frame needs some renovation work. Bottle cage braze-ons and top rtube cable quides had been added and one of the rear dropouts had been bent in shipping. However it did have however what appeared to be some original equipment - a 144mm bcd Campag NR chainset with broader crank arms much more like most of the 151mm bcd NR cranks, a NR seatpin and Cinelli bars and stem neither of which were anodized. The BB shell has the six oval holes found on many early 70s De Rosas. Lugs are quite a long point type with a longish heart cutout. The fork crown appears to be on of the sand cast type and has the holes in the corner like some of the early Colnago crowns but semi-sloping rather than flat top. I would be very interested to hear what CR members opinions are on the frame.
