Subject: [CR]Ebay issue!

I received a negative feedback rating from a fellow who purchased my beloved Jim Redcay frame/fork/headset via Ebay. His complaints are: 1) that the bottom of the fork was scratched when it protruded from the box. That one of the lug points had to be bent back because it was damaged in shipping, or was protruding from the box, and that one of the dropout screws was bent.

Here is my reply:

(Name witheld), you are mistaken and I will provide proof to you: 1) You give no visual evidence. No photos, no video, no contact information with your driver. No claim to FedEx for accepting a damaged package (You infer that the package was damage because YOU said the forks had punctured the package). 2)You inform me over 7 days AFTER the package was delivered, when clearly, the GUARANTEE I provided was for claims within 7 days. Your claim indicated that one lug tip was bent but you PROVIDE no proof of that, no pictures, no statement from a bike shop or ANY OTHER qualified repair person. One dropout screw was already slightly bent, as was clearly visible in the pictures.

Your negative ebay comment will be dealt with appropriately. I returned today from Seattle, and eagerly read your negative ebay feedback comment. Now I will tell you this: Either remove that comment, or face the consequences of your action. If you do not, I will deal with your ebay negative comment (full of prevarications, disengenousness, and outright lies), appropriately. Believe it, I will. Pat, let me repeat this: if you had responded within the appropriate 7 day guarantee time, I would have acted and refunded your money. You did NOT! That, in itself, smacks of ebay scam, period. I have shipped over 100 frames in the past, and I know what I'm doing. You open a box a week after it was delivered, and blame me. You said I did nothing. I did several things. I contacted you, and can prove it because I have the email and the confirmation of your opening it and reading it! I offered to contact FedEx with the issues. You have not responded to me with that confirmation or request.

I don't know if this guy thinks he can pull a scam or whether he is just stupid, but opening a frame box 9 days after it is delivered, and then laying a negative response on the seller without asking for a refund, well, that is just ludicrous. Beware CR folks, He lives in Chicago.
