Peter, The bike had clamp-on pegs. The owner sawed the original ones off so he could use a longer pump, and a clamp-on water bottle. I could just use those (or nicer ones) mounted over the stubs. I have the original pump as well.

{I just spruced up a Le Chemineau for a couple here in Ct. It was a ladies bike and she hopes to ride it in the daffodil parade on Nantucket this year... I am curious when did you get yours, and what color is it?}

It is green. It's owner bought it new from Jimmy Armando in 1955. He was a classmate of mine in high school, class of '57, and he introduced me to Mr. Armando and a couple of avid bicyclists in New Britain, Ernie St. Pierre (originally from Montreal), and Jimmy Doone. Mr. Doone sold me one of his Le Chemineaus witch was in very good condition, and I still have it today.

Sadly, my old classmate and friend passed away recently. He wanted me to have his bicycles and all the parts and tools that went with them. He knew I would appreciate them more than anyone.

[There are a bunch of Le Chemineau's floating around, I'm supposed to go look at one when I get time.]

I have always thought there should be more Le Chemineaus. I was told that Mr. Armando sold five or six a year out of his cellar in Hartford's South End. I would like to somehow keep track of the other Le Chemineau owners. A web site maybe?

[Do you plan to bring it to Cirque?]

I would love to. My wife wants me to attend a relative's wedding, so I haven't made reservations, but plan B is to send one of the bikes with Mark Hoffman.

For pictures and more information on my bikes, please use the links that should be at the bottom of this email.
