The solution is easy. The hour was an fake as the landing on the moon was. Eddy was an CIA agent that had to go into hiding and they gave him a new identity as cyclist.
To be honest: is it this interesting if it is the "right" cycle? Eddy won't do it again, if he would, he would do it on another bike nowadays, I guess. It's just an old bike that looks like that one that was used once to ride a fast one hour tour.
It wasn't the bike that did the hour, it was the cyclist.
Possibly I'm a little bit stupid. Could anyone please explain in simple words, what the interesting part of this examination is?
