Subject: [CR]Mathauser Pads are back, sort of ...

The other day I called a toll free number I'd gotten a year or so ago about Mathauser pads that may have been available. I was given this URL: http://www.yokozunausa.com/ and told to select brakes. They've got the Mathauser generic pads on threaded carriers virtually identical to the old ones for sale in pairs at $30 US for a set of four pads, plus a minimum $9 shipping and a minimum $40 order, a bit steep.

They list a pre-2000 brake pad, but sell it as 1 (which I hope would be one pair) that appears to include a streamlined aluminum housing with a sort of shark fin wheel guide and listed for $11.99 though the description neither includes anything about how many make a set or even if the aluminum carrier is included. It does appear from the photo to be a slide in cartridge, but not with the old traditional smooth Mathauser or even ridged Campy pattern.

I'm not connected with this site at all, just interested in getting more brake pads. One generic set of four don't make a minimum order and I've got too much stuff to add to the pile just to experiment with the Campy style ones. If anyone purchases them, I'd like to hear their opinion of them.

Happy trails,
