Subject: [CR] Need frame repair advice...

Hi All,

I need some advice. There is a small crack in the upper head tube lug on this frame. The crack does not go into the head tube itself, only the lug as you can see in the pictures. I'd like to get some advice from the experts here. How serious is a crack like this? Should it be repaired? If so, how would you go about that (or more to the point, how would you recommend the frame builder go about it since I'm not going to be repairing anything)? Is there a way to affect the repair without totally destroying the chrome on the lug? Obviously I realize there would be a spot that had been brazed and filed and maybe some bluing in the chrome around it and I could live with that but is that even realistic or is the heat going to strip off everything?
