Pic of the Day 19th January, 2009

Bring the Zéfals... Leave the Bikes

Stage winner André Rosseel (carrying his winner's bouquet) and two Belgian National Team teammates (left - Alois De Hertog, Alcyon; and right - Marice Neyt, Groene-Leeuw) arrive at their hotel after the 16th Stage of the 1952 Tour de France, from Perpignan to Toulouse. The young Terrot rider won in convincing fashion on the velodrome in Toulouse, finishing about 20 bike lengths ahead of eleven breakaway companions.

What caught my eye is that the riders kept their frame pumps with them overnight, rather than leave them with their bikes.
