Dickey and all,

What is a Willow tripleizer?

I loved the Stronglight 93 cranks on my Peugeot PX-10s and my 1982- ish TREK 730 (stolen!), and also loved my Campi NR 144 BCD doubles, which I later had converted to a triple crank by Wheelsmith to take Avocet (74MM inner BCD) inner rings. I'm still using those NRs on my UO-18 mixte (sans the innermost and outermost CRs), with a single 44T ring and a cyclo-cross chainguard on the outside to protect my pant legs.

The best thing about the Shimano Dura-Ace (off-topic) cranks that came on my (also off-topic) TREK 2000 was that their 39-53 gearing reminded me of my dear, departed Stronglight 93 cranks (stolen along with the rest of my TREK 730)...

I have "inherited" Linda's old Stronglight 99s, which I plan to use as a "compact" double crank (30-34 inner and 50-ish outer?) on my Allegro. But you could convince me to use Stronglight 93s in a heartbeat....

I never really liked the steel cottered cranks on my UO-8. Especially watching a bike shop mechanic overhaul the BB or replace the crank arms....

Speaking of crank sets, I have used and sworn by Phil Wood BBs ever since 1975. Love 'em to death, and still using the original BBs I bought 20-35 years ago, with the exception of a couple of axle length and bearing replacements along the way...
