Some of you may remember the nice original condition Roma I picked up around Thanksgiving. Well, with a lot of help from listmembers I got her pretty much buttoned up. Just glued the tires on today, so even though there was some sunshine I have not had a chance to get in a ride yet. But I did snap a few quick pics to show off.

Many thanks to David Ross (who supplied the Legnano Record rear hub), Michael Allison, Scott Davis, Mike Kone, and Tony Colgrave in particular, but to all the other listmembers that chimed in with info and advise as well. It's much appreciated.

It was a pretty straightforward overhaul, trying to keep as much of the original parts intact as possible. The rims were the biggest hurdle, trying to recreate the broken valve-hole grommets in the early Fiamme's. I finally found some anodized steel wire crimps at an electrical supply store that were the right size to re-work. I was able to put a flare on to match the look of the originals, then used the flaring tool to "swedge" them into the rims. Came out pretty decent.

When I got the bike the rear hub at been replaced with a low-flange Gran Sport, but luckily the original Hi Flange hubs were laced 4X, so they relaced the LF hub 3X without changing out the spokes. So all but one of the original Stella spokes were present, and easily went back 4X with the proper HF hub.

The Brooks Pro shown will be replaced with a period modded B-17 in the future.

Anyway, here's some not great pics (my camera is dying).
