I would like to point out that I was indicating the frame might be a Merckx based on a very poor quality set of pictures and the one feature of the brake bridge could be worth further investigation.

I was not saying that it was a Merckx based on the shape, just that if you could get better pictures that would be an area to look at !

John ,I do understand your point about the shape not being the only factor to consider.

If the bridge has the "Merckx" engraving, that should settle the matter. If not, well, those bridge shapes were widely available to any builder -- I have a few here even.
