Sad to hear about Emey. I used to live in NYC. Got in
to bikes just after Tommy Avenia moved from e.119th st. to west Haverstraw.
I used to stop at Avenia's on the way back from Bear Mountain. He was a
lways trying to sell me one of those wooden stands for upside down bike rep
air which Emey put to good use as well as old style campy chain rings ($1
0.00!) Tommy insisted those rings would go up in value. How right he was.
I was fortunate to own an Allegro track bike bought from Emey. Orange with
chrome lugs, fork and rear triangle, white fades near the lugs, blue and w
hite pin striping, badged Cinelli track stem & bars. Had to sell it in the
