Anyone who thinks the American Flyers movie is bad doesn't love old bikes the way I do. The sight of so many classic steel race bikes against the back drop of beautiful hills is enough of an excuse for me for any movie. Add to that a scene or two like Kostner truing a wheel, a Regina six cog freewheel shifting up and down and sexy girls wearing hot jogging shorts that barely cover the hairy parts and you have a monumental work of art. By the way, in the final race scene one rider goes over the side of a mountain into a massive drop. It was real and the rider did live though he got badly banged up.

I have nothing to complain about as far as this movie goes because I actually watch stupid YouTube videos of various classic rear derailleurs being shifted. In American Flyers some scenes show the Nuovo Record on the red Allez and a minute later you see the Suntour Superbe Pro on the same bike. Talk about quick shifting!!
