Traditionally we've always used fish scales or standing on a bathroom scale to weigh bikes and frames. Bathroom scales are not too reliable and weigh only to the nearest pound. The old spring type fish scales were also not so good, with tiny graduations and friction. A year ago I bought a 50 pound Berkley digital fish scale at Walmart for under $20 and have found it to be extremely accurate.
