In 1971, I bought one new in Orange, Califonia. Eventually, I went to work at Talbot's Cyclery in San Mateo, Ca. Talbot's was the original importer of DeRosa bicycles and I sold mine to buy a DeRosa.
Within the last few months I bought a 1971 frame and fork. Mostly, I outfit ted it as stock. I deplore original handlebars and stems (will this get me kicked off?) and used ones I like. The wheels are built with Dyad rims and I use 32mm Panaracer Paselas. I have been commuting on the bike (9 miles) a nd love it.
