Subject: [CR] 49 Giro?

It's been six years since Aldo Ross posted his translation of Dino Buzzati's 1949 Giro d'Talia news articles. Being a retrogrouch sentimental slob, I was wondering if he might do it again for this 60th anniversary of the Giro. For those interested, you can find the original postings by searching '49Giro' in the archives, it's all there for viewing. But what brought it to life for me six years ago were the postings day to day in time with the present day Giro as a spectacular comparison. This was the year that Coppi and Bartali fought a legendary battle for victory. It was by a reporter who wrote more about the riders from a perspective of humanity rather than just the competition. I saved all those daily postings to my own archive at the time and just found them while cruising my files. Just hoping that Aldo may give us another dose and something new for those who've never read it. Aldo?

Happy trails,
