hi gang,

Count me among those who are happily using clips & straps with slotted clea ts on the shoes. Most of my shoes are vintage, but I do have some Shimano shoes with their old slotted cleats that fit the Look bolt pattern.

The Yellow Jersey has been kind enough to make slotted cleats for the Look bolt pattern, but most folks just have trouble finding shoes that aren't li ttered with velcro straps that interfer with the toe straps. Recently, I n oticed that Cycling Plus had pictures of the Shimano R062 shoe which looks ideal for use with clips and straps!

The Shimano R062 has laces as well as a single velcro strap at the top. Th e shoe is about as classical looking as this sort of shoe could be; plain black and small perforations on the side panels. You can see it here:

My only concern is that the shoe has a tall toe box. Might interfer with toe clips designed for lower profile classic shoes?

Has anyone tried these, and are they easily available here in the States? I've only seen them available from UK shops.
