Well I have been reading all the for's and against's regarding 'antique' or vintage style shoes. I think I can categorically say that unless someone h as an attic or cellar full of shoes there just ain't going to be any 'prope r' cycling shoes anymore. There is an auction goping at the moment for a BIN 'Vintage English Leather Bike Touring Shoe # 230324934974 it started at $179.99 and has now dropped to $149.99. Now I remember these shoes being sold by my LBS (Peacocks in Kenton Middx, UK) way back in 1953/54. I was not able to afford these shoe s with the triangular eyelets so had to make do with round ones which were a pound od two cheaper. The great thing about these type of shoes is that y ou can walk in them (they have a small heel). Another option is http://www.vintagevelos.com  with the Vittoria shoe. and also http://www.cycles-alex-singer.fr  who does  Chaussures de velo...not cheap, but nice. And of course fly the flag for England, http://www.reynoldsshoes.co.uk  w ith the Innovations shoe. There is another French Company that makes a terr ific looking shoe that costs an arm and a leg...but I can't remember the na me!. I have been in contact with a chap n Hong Kong who thinks he may be able to source a heeled touring shoe, I am awaiting his response. Well thats a it more added to the debate. If anyone has a shoe like the one on e-bay but in a size 9UK (10US)43-44 Euro, I would be very interested.
