Like painters, there are good and poor powdercoaters and similar assessments must be made as in painters. It is far easier to put on a heavy coating for coverage issues and to avoid surface blemishing such as orange peel. In doing so, the results are as Paul reports.

I have done some fairly good powdercoating surfaces on bikes, i have seen excellent ones (Spectrum sticks in my mind having seen their work at Nahbs). It is a different process that painting, and in my eyes incomparable, no better no worse but very different.

if one is particular about finish (as i am), cheap is usually just that.
