Just a quick thanks to all of you who directed me to the VERY fine VIA bikes here in Philadelphia. I had a wonderful visit yesterday and hope to return today prior to flying out of this very interesting town.
And as I've seen in many of my travel destinations (which are always downtown centers of largeish cities) - there are a LOT of old steel bikes chained up on every corner ! (gas pipe, mostly) Lots of the fixie crowd.. Noticeable lack of helmets (I learned helmets are very NOT cool in the East !! - but LA's Midnight Riders would surely concur !). And when I arrived at Via, the line was out the door of patrons - guess spring has sprung here in the East !
