Subject: [CR] Very odd alloy freewheel G.C.VR

Hey all,

I recently received an nos Chesini mod 83 . Crazy pantoed bike .

It has a 7 speed alloy freewhee only marked with G.C./ VR/ Italy/ Brev INt

It looks like it might use the suntour 4 prong removal tool but it wont fit, beyond that it looks to be built into the hub which is pntoed chesini precision.

The drive side lock nut of the axle is huge .

It appears I would have to remove the axle to remove the freewheel? Or is it actually an early cassette?

Anyone shed some light on this oddity .

Each cog is drilled out and its virtually new , it appears to be even lighter than campy

Was Chesini doing a sorta ICS thing without all the gold and chrome? This is some of the heaviest pantographing and anodizing I have seen on any components.

thanks
