Scott,

About a year and a half ago, I received a bike off of eBay with some ratty old sewups. One tire held air for about 3 hours the other went flat immediately. The bike came from Colorado. I picked at least 1/2 dozen goathead stubs out of the treads.

I had a yellow label 50 ml Tufo Tire Sealant Kit so I decided to test the stuff on these junk sewups. I haven't gotten around to going over the bike to get it rideable yet but the tires are still holding air. Definitely not latex tubes.

I tried the sealant on several other junk tires. The only one it didn't work on had a sidewall cut.

Based on my results I highly recommend this sealant. The yellow label sealant can be used before you get a flat as well as after. The orange label Tufo Sealant is only for use after you get a flat.
