Hi all. I seem to remember [ca. 1972] that a Schwinn Paramount, [P13, P15] went for $350.00 [Ral. Internationals were around $375.00- $400.00] and the Pista for $250.00. A Raleigh Pro was already about $500.00. I paid $250.00 for my [lilac] 1972 Ral. Competition. The Nixon wage/price freeze fell about this time and impacted the Paramounts which were already underpriced. The rumor was that Schwinn was no longer releasing the Paramounts until the price could be brought up to a profitable level. Perhaps a list member w/ more facts can speak to this.
