Dear Chas, Many thanks for your kind help. I will check out velo.orange.

I just measured the thread and you are right, it is a 23mm x 1mm thread.

I wish that I could find my original extractor, but it must have got mislaid in the last move.

Again, many thanks.

Peter,

Stronglight used their own bâtard sized threads on their 49, 93, 105 and other early cranksets.

The threads are 23,35mm x 1mm. Later version cranks used the industry standard 22mm x 1mm threads.

T.A. extractors are 23mm x 1mm and will fit loosely. There's a good chance that they will damage the Stronglight threads when you try to pull off the crank arms.

Stronglight extractors come up on eBay about every 2 weeks. The originals have been going for ~$40-$50 USD.

Velo Orange has the US made J.A. Stein pullers for Stronglight cranks for $45.00.
