When unable to locate the stronglight extractor, I use the TA with two full turns of teflon tape wrapped around. IF you know how to properly use teflo n tape (ie wrapping in the direction of the turning rather than against it) I'd recommend this as a stop-gap. I've never stripped a crank arm thread t his way, but I should cover my asp and remind you that your mileage may v ary.
