Does anyone know if Schwinn ever used bars marked "Made in England" (as in the outed eBay listing) on the early (pre-war or post-war) Paramounts? Matthew admits that he's not sure the bars are original Schwinn equipment. Also, I've read that "Made in England" probably indicates they were manufactured post-war rather than pre-war (pre-war would more likely say "Made in Great Britain" or just "Made in Britain"). I was under the impression that Schwinn used Torrington bars (made in USA) on the early Paramounts, but perhaps they began using bars from England after the war? Can anyone shed more light on this? I am desparately seeking the right bars for my otherwise all-original '38 Paramount.

Thanks,

I have listed an item of interest on eBay that I'd like to share with The G ang: Steel adjustable stem and bars for a 30's - 50's Schwinn track bike.

Auction can be seen here: http://ebay.com/<blah Or by searching item number "120409153259" or seller "gapaja". Thanks for looking, Matthew Bowne Brooklyn, New York
