Ladies and Gentlemen! Boys and Girls! (and this being New York City...Everything In Between!):

The BVVW group (a tangent of Gruppo Sportivo Pergolizzi) is comprised of a rag-tag gang of hardcore certified velo-freaks, who hangout (drink beer), talk bike stuff (eat Pizza) and ride together (drink coffe) every now and again. And with spring now upon us, it's really time we get the wheels spinnin'!

I AM PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE TWO UPCOMING BVVW EVENTS! Get your pens handy and mark your calendars!

WHAT: BVVW BROOKLYN GROUP RIDE

WHERE: Prospect Park. Rendezvous at "The Grecian Shelter"

WHEN: Saturday, May 16th 10:00AM

WHY: I miss ridin' with you guys! Time to dust off your favorite ride and get those "winter legs" moving.

We'll spend a couple of hours toolin' around The Park (a closed 3.3 mile loop). All skill levels and all types of bikes are encouraged...Bring spouses, friends and anyone interested in our local riding community. Because we'll be riding on a closed loop, you will be able to ride at any pace you are comfortable with. C'mon! Meet for coffee and snacks at Connecticut Muffin Company immediately following.

Our very own BVVW member Harry Schwartzman has been working to organize the First Annual Brooklyn Bicycle Jumble right here in Park Slope!

WHAT: An outdoor Bicycle Swap Meet to close out NYC Bike Month and stock up on your summer cycling needs. **

WHERE: JJ Byrne Park, in Park Slope Brooklyn

WHEN: Sunday, May 31st from 10AM to 2PM (plus an hour on either side for vendor set up and break down)

VENDOR/ATTENDEE INFO : http://www.nybikejumble.com/

CONTACT: brooklynbikejumble@gmail.com

**Because there is space for it, I am also encouraging a casual, impromptu "Bike Show". More "show and tell" than "concourse d'elegance". Have something you'd like to share? Bring out your latest project to be "ooohed and aaahed"! Interesting new barn find? A piece of NYC cycling history? Anything that might encourage or spark an interest in the preservation of the classic bikes we know and love? Bring it! Keep in mind that there will be no awards or show categories, just a chance for some exposure. This event will be open to the public and no security will be provided, so only bring stuff you can keep your own eyes on. Also please bring your own stands for any bikes you wish to display. Contact Harry at the email above with any questions.

See you soon!
