Subject: [CR] For Sale Merckx and Pollard frames, Sturmey FC 4spd hub, early Campy brake levers, TA track adaptor plus loads more

Hi everyone,

Offered for sale to CR members are a couple of frames and some interesting and rare parts - the Sturmey FC 4-speed hub gear is particularly rare as arer the early type Campy brake levers with silver bodies and round holes in the levers... There are a few other good parts too - the TA track adaptor with a new 48T 1/8in ring is not common and ideal for a 50s track bike... And the Modolo Kronos brake levers are also rather rare as are the early style Universal brake callipers... The 49D cranks are also a very useful part.

I can take payment a number of ways - Paypal, cheque in GBP, cash sent registered post, Traveller\u2019s cheques in $, direct bank transfer within the UK or European Iban bank transfer.

With the pound being low in value these are a real bargain... for US and European buyers. All have pictures you can check out on Photobucket.

EDDY MERCKX CORSA ROAD FRAME 59cm 1985 Seat Tube (ctc: 59cm Top Tube (ctc: 58cm Rear dropout width: 126mm Wheel size: 700C (brake drop is 45mm) Frame tubing: Columbus SLX almost certainly Bottom Bracket Threads: Italian This is really rather nice example of an Eddy Merckx road frame - it is in very sound condition with just a small dent to the lower end of the down tube - this would be mostly hidden by the chainwheel when the bike was built up. Merckx road frames are noted for their riding qualities. 145 GBP http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Merckx-Corsa.jpg http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Merckx-Corsa-dets.jpg

POLLARD ROAD FRAME 24.5in Nervex Pro 1960s Seat Tube (ctt): 24.5in Top Tube (ctc): 23in Rear dropout width: 122mm Wheel size: Sprints or 700C with a brake drop of 50mm Seatpost size 27.2mm Pollards were a Coventry framebuilder who I think closed in the late 1980s/early 1990s. This frame is in sound condition and is I am sure built from Reynolds 531 double-butted tuning; the lugs are Nervx Pro and once refrinished it will look very beautiful - the rear dropouts are Campagnolo vertical making it not so ideal for singlespeed or fixed wheel use. 45 GBP http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Pollard-dets.jpg http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Pollard.jpg

CAMPAGNOLO RECORD BRAKE LEVERS - early style with hole and silver body, both lever blades have some fine scratches but nothing at all obtrusive 30 GBP http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Campag-early-brake-levers.jpg

CAMPIONE SADDLEBAG BRACKET to fit saddle rails of saddles without bag loops 1960s 10 GBP http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Campione-saddlebag-bracket.jpg

MODOLO KRONOS/ORION BRAKE LEVERS complete with a NOS pair of hoods - theese arer in very good condition except that they have faded quite a bit. However they are rare... 25 GBP ono http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Modolo-brake-levers.jpg

ROLLS SADDLE black 1980s - in sound condition with no serious scuffs or tears 15 GBP http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Rolls--saddle.jpg

STRONGLIGHT 49D CRANKSET 170mm 1970s in very good/excellent condition. Perfect tapers and English pedal threads. 40 GBP http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Stronglight-49D.jpg

STURMEY ARCHER FC 4-SPEED CLOSE RATIO HUB GEAR complete with 4-speed trigger. This is an example of one of the rarer and more desirable Sturmey Archer hub gears from the 1950s. The shell has 40 spoke holes. The FC is the close ratio 4-speed hub gear offering gears 9.1% above direct drive and 10% and 25% below direct drive. This is a really useful range. With 27in wheels, a 48T chain wheel and an 18T sprocket the gears are well spaced at 54in, 65in, 72in and 79in. These gears are a lot rarer than the FM (4-speed medium gear) and one of the nicest to use. It is in excellent only lightly used condition - I have checked it internally and the wear is only very light and it is in excellent condition. I will supply it either with the 3-spline driver as fitted or with a 12 spline driver if the buyer wishes. In both cases a sprocket will be supplied. 125 GBP ono http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Sturmey-FC-hub.jpg

TA 5-PIN TRACK ADAPTOR AND ?T RING PART NOS - this is an excellent track adaptor with a NOS 48T 1/8in ring. This sort of track adaptor was used by many top track riders in the 50s and could be fitted to most 5-pin cranks - Stromglight, Gnutti, Magistroni, BSA etc The track single adaptors are really rather rare... 30 GBP http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/TA-track-adaptorring.jpg

UNIVERSAL BRAKE CALLIPERS Early type with Q/R in very nice condition - one set of arms is deep drop, the other shallow - at preset the deep arms are on the front bolt but these could easily be swapped to the rear bolt £35 http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Universal-brake-callipers.jpg
