With the recent blurb on sloping fork crowns, I couldn't help but wonder when Cinelli first came out with theirs and who were the ones that followed, I understood the Cinelli came out with theirs in the 50s and folks like Coppi thought it was too "fragile" (he was obviously wrong), therefore it didn't catch on with other folks until late 60s early 70s. I understand that there are a great deal of very knowledgeable Cinelli aficionados here on the CR list and was wondering when their sloping fork crown came out and who were some of the first forks to adopt it and when, if ever, did the "classic" design stop showing up on bikes? I have several other bikes that have a later style of cinelli sloping fork crown that showed up on SLX frames, but I refer to the early type that you would find on Cinelli and early 70s Raleigh pros. Any help would be much appreciated. Nels Cone
Well, my '65 HR Morris tourer uses one, so we know they traveled into
the UK by then.
